Hey Ladies,

Happy fall! Thanks so much for a great and productive summer. We are definitely on track to take our team to the next level. Let's keep the excitement alive for the 2009 season! Stay tuned for the occasional posting and in the meantime, train hard and be safe this winter.

It's almost Regionals time! Let's get enough out on Thursday night to scrimmage. It would be nice to run through the plays before the big weekend. Same time, same place. Everyone welcome... and I have a new drill we can work on!!

Sunday, September 29th

Ladies,

We are meeting Sunday at Riley Park in Kensington (12:00pm) to take advantage of the nice weekend and possibly last chance to practice prior to Regionals. Please come out if possible... we'll throw, drill and maybe even scrimmage if we can get the numbers out!! Everyone is welcome.

On that note, thanks to everyone who came out on Thursday despite the rainy weather!!

Thursday September 18th

Ladies we will be only practicing on Thursdays from now on, due to low numbers on both nights. We will get started at 6:30pm sharp at the market mall fields, please be there and ready to play by 6:30 so that we can take advantage of the sunlight.

As always bring a white and dark shirt as well as a disc.

Tuesday September 9th Thursday September 11th

Ladies we are on for Tuesday and Thursday night this week. Please come out so that we can have numbers to play. We will be starting at 6:30pm at the Market Mall fields. Bring a white and a dark shirt aswell as your trusty disc and something warm to wear.

Tuesday September 2/ Thursday September 4

Hey Ladies we will be back up at the Market Mall fields for 6:30pm on both Tuesday and Thursday this week.

Bring a white and a dark shirt and a disc.

Thursday August 28th

After a week off the women of Calgary shal get moving once again at the Bridges fields in Bridgeland (917 Centre Avenue NE, Calgary) at 6:30pm on Thursday August 28th. It will be a good chance to get back out there and at least throw.

Bring a white and a dark shirt as well at a disc so that we can play.

UPA's

Canadian Ultimate Championships 2008

Ladies Nationals starts tomorrow morning!!

Our first game starts at 8:30am so lets be at the fields at 7:30am to get started.

F#11 VS. Fusion 8:30am
F#11 VS. Salty 12:00 noon
F#11 VS. Storm 1:45pm

For Thursday we are playing at the Calgary Rugby Union (East on Glenmore Tr.).

Tuesday August 12th

Ladies Tuesday is our last practice before nationals!! It is a very important practice to be at as we will be going over our plays and talking about details for nationals starting Thursday morning at 8:30am, know that you will need to be at the fields (CRU) at 7:30am.

We will be getting started at 6:30pm sharp on Tuesday, so be there 15 mins early to get your cleats on and ready to go. Bring a white and dark shirt as well as a disc.

Lets get excited for NATIONALS IN 3 DAYS!!

Tuesday August 5th and Thursday August 7th

Ladies, we are quickly approaching nationals.

There are three women's practices left until nationals (5th/7th and 12th of Aug) so we need to put our game faces on and really get working. As always we will start at 6:30pm at the market mall fields, bring a white and dark shirt and a disc.

Only 10 more days!!

Tuesday the 29th and Thursday the 31st

Ladies this week we will be working more on our plays and our connections on the team. Practices are still open to ALL women who are interested in playing. As usual we will be at the market mall fields, and starting by 6:30pm (so be there a few minutes early to cleat up).

Bring a disc, a white and a dark shirt, as well as plenty of water as it is going to be hot this week.

NOTE: there is a guest fee for Nationals of $45.00, this would get the guest dinner on Thursday and access to the party on Saturday night and entrance to the final on Sunday.

TUESDAY July 22 and Thursday July 24

Ladies be proud after showing Edmonton what is up this weekend with a crushing victory of 17-4!

With three weeks left until Nationals we are going to turn on the gas and start practicing on both Tuesday's and Thursday's. We will be starting at 6:30pm be there ready a few minutes early to get your cleats on so that we can make the most of our time. As always bring a disc and a white and dark shirt.

Also note that this week (Tuesday and Thursday) are very important practices to be at as we will be setting our roster for nationals on Friday. If you are unable to make it please let someone know so that we can take that into account.

Alright get excited only 24 days until Nationals!

Field Change fo Sunday.

There has been a FIELD CHANGE for Sunday! Still be there at 12:45pm with cleats on. We are now playing at FRANK McCOOL Athletic Park located at 1900 Lake Bonivista Drive SE.

Regionals Sunday July 20th

Regionals are once again upon us. Our game is at 1:30pm- 3:00pm on Sunday the 20th, please be there with your cleats on 45mins early (12:45pm). We are playing at the SAINTS Rugby club 3003 15 St NE, Calgary, AB.

There will be NO field food so please plan ahead and bring some snacks. Water and washrooms will be provided. As always you need to bring a disc as well as a white and a dark shirt.

The Co-ed games run from 10:00am-5:15pm on Saturday the 19th and from 10:00am-4:45pm on Sunday the 20th.

The Men's game is at 3:15pm-4:45pm on Sunday the 20th.

Thursday July 17th

Hello ladies, just a reminder that we will be playing this Thursday at 6:30pm at the market mall fields. This is our last practice before regionals this coming weekend!

Bring a disc as well as a white and dark shirt.

Thursday July 10th

Ladies we are on for Thursday 6:30pm at the Market Mall fields with all your Stampede bells and whistles on. The weather looks good so lets take advantage of it while it lasts.

Nationals are approaching and Salty from Halifax is still looking for billets so please email calgarywomensultimate@gmail.com with your information if you are interested. Where you live, how many ladies you can put up, and a contact (best option) phone and e-mail. Thank you.

Thursday July 3rd

Ladies we are going to CANCEL practice this Thursday because our numbers will be very low due to Potlatch this weekend. Feel free to post that you want to get together and throw with someone sometime over the weekend as regionals are coming up. Do what you can to get some exercise in this weekend.

CUC 2008

In the year 2006 the Calgary women traveled to the far parts of this land. There we were offered a warm place to sleep. Salty(the women's team from Halifax) is looking for some nice people to take them in while they are here in town. If you have a place for a couple of ladies to stay please e-mail calgarywomensultimate@gmail.com and we will set you up with some info and some company. Lets show them what Calgary is really all about.

This Thursday we will be running a regular practice 6:30pm at the Market Mall fields. Remember to bring your white and dark shirt, and obviously that good old disc of yours.

This Thursday is a very special Thursday, there will be a scrimmage against EPIC one of the masters teams. this battle will start at 7pm at the market mall fields, but be sure to be there ready to start at 6:30pm to warm up and drill a bit before the battle commences.

Thursday June 5th

We will be running a great practice this Thursday at the Market Mall fields to get us ready for this weekends legendary Flowerbowl. Combining a few new drills that we learned this weekend with a few old drills we will continue to work on our fundamental skills and push ourselves to make the right decisions. All are welcome, and remember to bring a dark and a white shirt, and your trusty disc.

The weather claims to be nice for Thursday and for Flowerbowl as well so that's a plus.

Also, there will be a second practice/scrimmage this week on Sunday, June 1st at 11:00am at Riley Park. All are welcome, but those who are attending Flowerbowl are especially encouraged to attend.

There will be a practice/scrimmage for Women's Ulty on Thursday, May 8. All women, of any skill level, are welcome to come out and join us. This is only the 3rd practice so we are looking to toss the disc, enjoy the weather, get some exercise and have some fun. Practice will be at the Market Mall Fields at 6:30 PM.
